It’s that time of year again! Eggnog, mistletoe, and chestnuts… all sponsored by Mountain Dew! We mean, of course, the VGAs are back. Yes, we don’t really care who wins, but there are some nice reveals through the night to set up 2012’s gaming. That’s why we host our chat on Twitter, using our official hashtag: #vgachat
Last year we had a blast, so we’re upping the ante this year. Lewis will be manning the SideQuesting account, Eric and I will be throwing in a few jabs, and John will be joining us again, this time representing our buds at Thrifty Nerd… and we’re going to get pretty crazy. Here are our rules (so far) for beer:
- Chug any time someone mentions that something is “sponsored by” anything.
- Chug any time gamers’ rights are brought up.
- Chug each time a celebrity makes a forced gaming joke.
- Take a sip any time the host is dumbfounded (we don’t want alcohol poisoning).
- Take a sip for every game that is premiered.
- Chug any time there is a crowd shot of a gaming personality.
Some rules for shots:
- Take a shot after an award is glazed over.
- Take a shot if Felicia Day shows up.
- Take a shot if Felica Day mentions Warcraft.
- Take a shot if you are utterly disgusted by what is going on.
- Take a shot if/whenever the Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 rivalry is mentioned.
- Take a shot for any internet meme used.
