E3 2013: EA Announces Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, Peggle 2 [Update: Trailer]

EA pulled a pretty great fake-out at the start of their E3 press conference, starting the show with what appeared to be a Battlefield 4 trailer, but was actually the announcement for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a new third-person shooter from developer PopCap. After a gameplay demo showing the class based warfare, PopCap’s representative dropped the figurative mic and announced Peggle 2 before jumping into the air and walking off the stage.

[Update: The live gameplay presented to the audience included third person 4-player co-op in a 3D world. Players select different plants, from pea shooters to fly traps to freakin’ garlic drones, and battle waves of zombies on their doorstep.]
