Let’s Build: LEGO Star Wars TIE Fighter Advanced Prototype [Video]

[All week long SideQuesting celebrating LEGO, one of the greatest toys of the last 100 years and a true bastion of creativity. Every day we’ll have original content submitted to us by great writers. Look, here’s one now!]

With LEGO Week a smashing success, I felt we’d finish the fight by doing a Let’s Play Build of a LEGO set! I chose the LEGO Star Wars TIE Fighter Advanced Prototype because STAR WARS and because it looks hella cool — and because it only cost me around $39 at Target.

The build encompasses 355 pieces, and I found only ONE piece missing from what was specified in the step-by-step instructions. That being said, I*did* have a handful of extra pieces left over that weren’t required, but I guess this is something that LEGO always does (extra pieces).

The final build took all of an hour, documented above in the video you can happily watch. Several pieces function in the build: the wings open and close, both entry points in the cockpit open and close, and the lasers fire REALLY, REALLY FAR. Enjoy the pics below and the build process above!
