#ScreenshotSaturday for September 19, 2015

One of the things we really enjoy about the Indie dev community is how much of a community it actually is. Unbridled by corporate NDAs and “jobs on the line”, the Indie world focuses on many people and teams who develop games on the weekends or as side projects. At SideQuesting, we feel like we fit right in. Writing about video games isn’t any of our full-time gigs, and so that spirit of creating simply because we have a passion to do so is mirrored in Indie dev.

And so, each weekend we’ve been focusing more and more on the Indie side of things, and we have a ton more planned that we’ll be unveiling slowly as part of our Indie Weekends push. The #ScreenshotSaturday hashtag is one that I’ve been following across social media for several months now. In this public tag, developers are linking to their recent work to not only show off their current project status but to gain feedback from their comrades in the hobby. We’ll be posting some of our favorites each weekend, but we surely suggest that you have a look for yourselves and indulge in the abilities and art direction of these talented folk.

Penarium is a 2D action puzzle multi-death game where dying — a lot — is a part of the process of winning. It releases this week on consoles and PC.
