Big changes could be coming to Mega Man when the next game arrives this year
Mega Man 11 will be arriving this year, and the feisty robot/cyborg is getting some new moves. The classic “beat an enemy to gain its power” concept is still there, but now a new “Double Gear” system will augment the bot. Dr Wily is researching new battle powers, and Dr Light’s only hope is for Mega Man to get those same abilities to stop him.
The powers are:
- Speed Gear — Allows our hero to slow down time
- Power Gear — Increases the mega buster’s attack power
- Double Gear — Activates both when MM is near death
This, along with a new art direction, could mix things up well for the series. Mega Man 11 launches October 2, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch, with the Nintendo version receiving a special “amiibo Edition” that includes an amiibo, patches, stickers and more.
