Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition coming to gaming devices this year

(Really nicely) pixelated replicants

Nightdive Studios and Alcon Entertainment are bringing that all-time classic PC game, Blade Runner, to modern gaming devices in an enhanced edition. The game, which was stuck on PC in the late Nineties for decades until recently popping back up on GOG, is now going to get the modernized treatment it so desperately deserves.

The “enhanced edition” won’t fundamentally change the game, but it will work to shine and buff some of the rough areas that haven’t necessarily stood the test of time. The classic styles pixelated visuals will include new animations and character models, as well as updated cut-scenes — the fmv scenes won’t be remade from scratch, rather using AI to update them.

The game is due this year for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. A Limited Run packaged version will arrive for PS4 and Switch later.
