Thumping new trailer hits modern social issues

WatchDogs: Legion is set in the future, but it definitely seems to be in tune with today.

A short film and a new gameplay trailer debuted during today’s Ubisoft Forward event, and focuses on a London that’s falling apart. Now relying on a security company named Albion, what could possibly go wrong? The game looks to take social issues dead on, with mentions of anti-immigrant, anti-equality and general nationalistic sentiment overrunning the city, and Deadsec out to make things right.

The trailer and gameplay focuses on players building a resistance of heroes, with any of the NPCs and characters we come across on the street. Characters fall into a sort of “class” based job system, that have flavors based on the individual (a construction worker would have different tools and a drone than an angry grandma, for instance).

Watchdogs Legion arrives on October 29, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia, and later to next gen PS5 and Xbox Series X.
