Disney+ announces Boba Fett streaming series

The Book of Boba Fett arrives December 2021

Not happy with the slew of Star Wars announcements earlier this month, Disney has revealed yet another new project set in the universe: The Book of Boba Fett. The company waited until most people say the season finale of the Mandalorian before the details were formally posted, considering that the news was actually given during a post-credit scene in the show. Now, everyone knows.

Set within the Mandalorian timeline, it will continue the story and star Temuera Morrison as Fett and Ming-Na Wen as mercenary Fennec Shand, and be produced by Robert Rodriguez, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni. It was a Rodriguez-directed episode in Season 2 of Mando that revealed Fett’s existence, so the set-up is perfectly in line.

The Book of Boba Fett will launch next year, December 2021, on Disney+, and take the place of The Mandalorian for the year, which Disney has said will return after Book.

We hope you like bounty hunters, because we’re about to get a lot of them.
