But more in the universe is on the way
Netflix has revealed that this upcoming season of its stellar Castlevania animated series will arrive on May 13th — but it will also be the last.
The fourth & final season will pick up with the world heading back into chaos, and darkness looming ever more. Based loosely on Castlevania 3, the first few seasons featured the intertwined stories of Trevor Belmont, Dracula, Alucard, and a cast of sorcerers and demons as they battled for control of the Transylvanian countryside.
However, though the series may be ending, Netflix will be launching a new series based on the show’s universe. Fans of the video games know that the IP has deviated from being direct sequels, often featuring brand new characters and enemies, and even different eras, to tell its stories. So, while this Castlevania series ends, perhaps we may head to the future iterations of the Belmont or Dracula lineages to see what they’re up to instead.
