Ubisoft’s Werewolves Within film gets a trailer

It’s like Knives Out but with fangs and guns

Ubisoft isn’t laying low when it comes to expanding their IP. Their latest project is the upcoming film Werewolves Within, based on their 2016 VR game of the same name, which is itself based on the 1986 social party game. The original concept divided players into teams of “informed and uninformed” and assigned specific roles, all in the hopes of figuring out who the “werewolf” was among them, and was often played over a weekend (it was popular at retreats). The PSVR game expanded that and moved it into a medieval setting, for some more fantastical elements.

Now it’s coming full circle, as the film, starring Milana Vayntrub and Sam Richardson, will take place in a sleepy town in modern times. But with a werewolf on the loose. Eating people. It’s up to the two and their team to figure out who in the town is the wolf, before they become dinner themselves.

Werewolves Within lands in theaters in June and on video services in July. Maybe it’ll be as good as Prince of Persia?
