EA Play Live 2021 reveals full schedule

Leaves some wiggle room for new games

Check out the full schedule of 2021’s gaming events here.

Though the company hasn’t been a fixture at E3 over the last half decade, EA is still usually in the mix with its own events during the same timeframe. It’s been a couple since we last saw them, and they missed the frenzy of E3 online this year, but the mega-publisher does have their own event lined up for this month. EA Play Live has just revealed its schedule, including 4 panels leading up to the showcase, and some of us are looking forward to the possibility for surprise announcements.

The panels will serve as sort of round table discussions about EA projects, and may reveal some new details. The show will take place on Twitch and YouTube.

Here’s the schedule from EA:

  • July 8 at 10:00am PT / 7:00pm CET: The Future of First-Person Shooters
  • July 13 at 10:00am PT / 7:00pm CET: EA <3s Independent Studios
  • July 19 at 4:00pm PT / 1:00am CET: Madden NFL 22 All-Access: Scouting – How the Community is Shaping Madden NFL 22
  • July 20 at 10:00am PT / 7:00pm CET: More EA SPORTS!

Our take:

  • The July 8th event will likely talk about Battlefield 2042 and APEX Legends
  • July 13 could be a good look at what’s next for the indie initiative which has already brought us Josef Fares’ It Takes Two and the Unraveled games
  • July 19th will be a deep-dive into some of the community aspects of Madden
  • July 20th is where we’ll likely see FIFA 22, NHL 22, and maybe even PGA 22 information, as well as a possible tease for NCAA Football, which seems like a reality now that the NCAA is allowing athletes to profit from their own likenesses

Finally, EA’s PLAY Live takes place on July 22 at 10AM PT/1PM ET. The company promises reveals for Battlefield 2042 and Apex Legends, as well as Lost in Random, but we may likely see the fabled Dead Space remake and/or collection that the industry has been talking about since last year. EA notes they’ll have a “couple other games” to spotlight. Fingers crossed!
