An intriguing expansion into the expanse
Outer Wilds is a phenomenal game, mixing elements of space exploration with mystery and true emotional weight that might only be accomplished when an independent developer takes those tremendous risks. It’s been met with glowing reviews, and rightfully so. That huge universe isn’t going away just yet, though.
During this week’s Annapurna Interactive showcase, developer Mobius Digital Games revealed a new expansion to the game, titled Echoes of the Eye. In the expansion, a new and unattributed anomaly is detected, and so players must experience one more chilling campfire tale to discover the (probably) astounding mystery behind it.
Echoes of the Eye launches September 28th for PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. A Switch version of Outer Wilds is due this Summer, but no date on the expansion hitting that console yet.
