God of War makes the jump to PC in January

Kratos and the Norse gods break free from their console chains

Sony realizes that there’s money in the PC market, having already shifted a few games to the non-console platform in recent years. Now, one of their biggest franchises is about to make its appearance there.

The company has announced that 2018’s stellar God of War will arrive on PC via Epic Games Store and Steam on January 14, 2022. The game will bring true 4k and unlocked framerates to the release, and depending on your PC’s power it could be a truly stunning experience.

It will even integrate NVIDIA’s DLSS for RTX, for a masterful visual, which will be nice on the now-supported ultra-wide screens. Further, players can customize the controls, even using DualShock 4s and DualSense controllers if desired.

Whew! It’s a lot to take in, but should provide the definitive experience for the game. Sony’s even throwing in a few goodies to celebrate. Those who buy the game will automatically get the following digital items:

  • Death’s Vow Armor Sets for Kratos and Atreus
  • Exile’s Guardian Shield Skin
  • Buckler of the Forge Shield Skin
  • Shining Elven Soul Shield Skin
  • Dökkenshieldr Shield Skin

Sony has already release hits Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone to the PC platform, so God of War is in good company. Now, give us Gran Turismo in a few years and we’ll be REALLY talking.
