And reveals a bunch of new details about the device and its controllers at CES
At CES 2022 this week, Sony has given more information about their upcoming VR headset. First, the successor to the PSVR is going to be named the PSVR2 — surprise!
The company revealed several key details about the device, including that it will all be connected via one USB-C cord to the PS5. It will have a 110-degree field of view, OLED screens, and a 2000 x 2040 resolution per eye with 90-120HZ frame rate. It will also have headset-based tracking, getting rid of a need for an external camera. Eye-tracking built into the headset will allow for better visualization and interaction, meaning that players can look at things without needing to turn their entire head.

No release date has been announced for the device yet, but we’ll likely see more of it this year as it is apparently coming more and more clearer in focus now.
