SideQuesting reveals its PAX East 2022 Team Choice Awards

The team unveils its favorites from the show

We didn’t know what to expect from PAX East — maybe no one did — but one thing became very clear very quickly: there are some incredible games to be looking forward to. In a return to form, we’ve chosen our favorite games of PAX East 2022. Our Team Choice awards denote what inspired us, what surprised us, or what we just couldn’t stop thinking about.

Terra Nil

“Terra Nil is a reverse city builder about ecosystem reconstruction. Turn a barren wasteland into an ecological paradise complete with different flora and fauna. Then clean up, leaving the environment pristine. Subverting the builder genre, Terra Nil is about the restoration of a ravaged environment.”

Demon Throttle

“DEMON THROTTLE tells the story of a beautiful vampiress and dusty gunslinger on a quest for vengeance against a demon that stole her mystical chalices and slept with his estranged wife. Now the two unlikely companions must blast their way through four monstrous generals and their wicked domains to lift the demon’s curse and exact their revenge.”

Dome Keeper

“The rogue-lite formula has largely been figured out, but it still never fails to pull me in me when the hook is good enough.” Read Taylor’s hands-on impressions here!

No Place For Bravery

“No Place for Bravery is a hardcore action-RPG exploring the lengths a parent would go to find their child in a war-torn world. Developer Glitch Factory beckons adventurers to a high fantasy world ravaged by bloodshed.”

Cursed To Golf

“The whole package is great. It feels great, from the virtual weight of the ball to how swings from the three different clubs affect the way it launches and lands around the screen. It looks great, from the pixelated style to the energetic animations to the high-contrast environments. And it sounds great; I had some good SNES sound chip vibes coming out of the experience.” Read our Hands-on here!
