Mario Paint is back, babyyyyy

Nintendo’s creative classic comes to Switch Online

Nintendo dropped a gaming megaton bombshell late last night in revealing that Mario Paint, the original creative suite of art and music, was making its way to the Switch’s online service —IMMEDIATELY.

SHADOW DROPPPPP

The SNES game was packaged with a mouse and mousepad when it first launched in the 90s, but today players can use the Switch 2’s Joy Cons (in mouse mode) or actually plug in a compatible USB mouse.

I remember cleaning out the SNES’s mouse with a little scraper, as back in those days peripheral makers used a ball and wheels to move the cursor around. That ball picked up LINT.

I loved playing the game, even going so far as creating full animated and musical shorts and recording them on VHS. And now, y’all can do it too.

On top of all of that, the game’s soundtrack was also shadowdropped on the Nintendo Music app, so get humming to the original cozy office music.

Mario Paint is available today.
