OH NO. OH NO OH NO OH NO. But also: OH YEAH. OH HELL YEAH.
When we were first teased about the upcoming official LEGO Game Boy we were definitely intrigued. After the NES, the Pac-Man cabinet and the Atari 2600 we’ve been suckers for the gaming consoles that have shifted into LEGO territory.
Now we know what the Game Boy will look like and suffice it to say we are SUCKED IN AGAIN.

The set, which comes in at just 421 pieces, is the original gangsta gray Game Boy. It can be set on an additional stand when assembled, for display purposes. What’s even more fantastic is that the “console” will come with two (non-functional) game carts, one for Link’s Awakening and one for Super Mario Land. The carts can actually be placed into the main Game Boy set via the cart slot, and with the help of lenticular cards we can even have some light motion on the “screen” depicting scenes from the two games.
It’s absolutely charming.

The best part? It’s only $59.99 and available to preorder now via LEGO (for insiders) or anywhere else. It arrives in October, and we know you’ll be getting one too.
