Upcoming movies and shows? Yes, please
It’s the week before San Diego Comic Con, and that means that we’re getting wave after wave of trailers for upcoming movies and TV shows that we’re excited about. This week alone has already brought in some videos for sequels that we’re keeping track of. Peep the trailers below and get ready for the next few months of flicks!
Mortal Kombat II is coming to theaters in October, and this week saw TWO trailers released for the film. The first is for Uncaged Fury, an in-movie, uh, movie that stars Johnny Cage, played by Karl Urban.
I’d totally see this movie, for what it’s worth.
The next clip is the ACTUAL movie trailer, which shows the MK gang looking for Cage to join their crew.
Tron: Ares brings us all the way back into the lightcycle world — except this time the digital folk have escaped into the real world. It’s like a reverse isekai! Tron: Ares is also arriving in October.
Stranger Things is back in November with the first half of its final season, and Netflix has dropped a real banger of a trailer that touches on A LOT — including Vecna’s return.
Alien: Earth looks like an interesting take on the franchise, as we’re finally seeing what kind of damage the Xenomorphs can cause on our little planet. Just, uh, don’t bring up any of the Aliens vs Predator movies. Alien: Earth arrives on FX and Hulu in August.
In other news, it looks like we’re getting a Donkey Kong movie, as a copyright has been filed between Nintendo and Universal. [Link]
The live-action Assassin’s Creed series has finally been greenlit at Netflix, about 5 years after it was initially announced. Seems like now’s the time for gaming content to really take over there.
And finally, there’s a new Judge Dredd project on the way, in case you haven’t already seen the last few incarnations. This time it’s being directed by Taika Waititi. [LINK]
