The next Pokemon game blends a whole lot together into a life sim
Midway through Nintendo’s latest Direct I found myself pointing and asking,
“Pokeminecraft?”
“Harvest Pokemoon?”
“The PokeSims?”
“Animal Poking?”
Nope! None of those, and yet all of those! The Pokemon Company took the Direct to announce their next game, Pokémon Pokopia, a life sim in the PokeUniverse. And it stars DITTO!
In the game, Ditto learns moves from other Pokemon that can be used to help customize their world and make it flourish. Everything from digging to planting to building, and collecting resources from the environment, can lead to more Pokemon showing up and moving in.
Cozy Pokemon has a great place in our hearts, because it has all the crazy collectibility of the series with the levels of charm turned up to 12000.
Pokémon Pokopia arrives exclusively on Switch 2 in 2026.
