The little dino’s solo return comes in a new stop-motion style game
It’s been a minute (over six years!) since Yoshi had a solo adventure, but Nintendo is giving him his own time to shine in the early days of the Switch 2. Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is a return to 2D platforming for the little guy, with our green guy jumping into a strange talking book, Mr. E, that falls from the sky.
Like in past Yoshi games, players will jump, flutter, and use their tongues to solve puzzles as they find out the mystery of the book. The modern Yoshi games have gravitated towards younger audiences, so don’t expect a ton of deep challenge here either.
The visual style angles into a stop-motion, almost claymation feel, continuing the trend of Yoshi having a unique and charming aesthetic for each game.
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book hits the Switch 2 in Spring 2026.
