One game per month, with meetups online and in person
Book clubs are great, whiskey clubs are great, art clubs are great — and game clubs are also great. But it can be a bit difficult to get all of our friends in said clubs to all play the same thing and then find time to meet. They’re typically loose, and that’s both good and can be difficult.
The Game Club, a new online/IRL gaming meetup, aims to help change that. Started by industry veterans and community organizers Guy Blomberg and Shay Leighton, the club is centered around a community that all plays the same game, anywhere around the world, and then gets together in person or online to discuss it. The best part is that the Game Club supplies the game at the beginning of each month, so there’s never NOT something to play.
The Game Club relies on its members to be good people, good neighbors, and to be willing to help grow the community — this is especially important as IRL meetups occur to discuss the games and the community needs to be focused and trusted to not be, well, dicks.
The club costs just $9.99 per month while in beta, and is hoping to grow its community securely and smartly.
