Mega Man 12 finally, officially, actually revealed

They see me rollin, they hatin, patrollin, and tryna catch me Overridin Dually

Holy crap, it’s actually happened: there’s a new Mega Man game on the way, and it’s a mainline game! At the Game Awards, Capcom revealed that Mega Man: Dual Override, the twelfth main entry in the series, is in production.

MMDO looks like classic Mega Man, albeit finally with new and more energetic animations. It appears as though the platforming we all know and love will be there, as are robots to fight, but we don’t know much else and probably won’t for a while. That’s because the game isn’t due until 2027. It’ll arrive on just about every platform, even the aging PS4, Xbox One and Switch, when it does.

To celebrate the series’ 40th anniversary (in 2027) Capcom is hosting a robot design contest for the game, much like it did through Nintendo Power waaaaay back in the day that led to enemies like Knight Man and Wind Man. Anyhoo, fans can enter throughout the month. Good luck!
