Pin this wild action to your head
I need to admit that I had never seen a Hellraiser film up until very recently. Throughout the 80s and early 90s my movie radar had shifted away from the genre, only ducking in every once in a while. Then, when the remake landed on Hulu a couple of years ago my interest was finally piqued, and I started a long and lengthy rewatch of the series.
It’s 2025 now, and a new Hellraiser game was annound earlier this year. I am, as one might say, LOOKING FORWARD TO HELL breaking loose, literally within this game. That’s because Hellraiser: Revival focuses on an unwitting hero OOPSIE kicking off Pinhead’s world-ending ritual. D’oh!
As an aside, Doug Bradley is returning to the voice of the role of the evil Hell priest, so that should tingle our 80s sensibilities.
After that early initial reveal, Saber Interactive has dropped the gameplay trailer to show us just exactly how Hell will be raised, and guess what? It looks just like we thought it would.
Anyhoo, hey, I enjoy when these classic horror properties make their way back into our gaming lives. It’s like a return to our magical IP-infused NES and SEGA Genesis gaming lives of the 80s. Hellraiser: Revival is the next one and I’m okay with that. It hits PS5, Xbox Series and PC sometime in 2026.
