The weird and wild retro-influenced basketball game comes to consoles, and J.J. is astounded at how it manages to be as solid as it is.
I didn’t expect much from this game when it first slid into my hands but honestly it’s a fun arcade style basketball game that’s less NBA Jam and more just pick up and play action. The game features Legally Distinct Pro Basketball Teams from various decades so our favorite teams are probably represented here (Go Supersonics!). In fact I think my biggest complaint is that I simply just don’t like the way it looks.
Though the game is a few years old and just now making it’s way to consoles, I see a lot of potential here and the upcoming sequel may tap into it by the looks of things. Basketball Classics is an easy recommendation as something that’s a little more than what we are expecting — and did I mention Go Supersonics?
