Welcome to the 10th Anniversary of the 20th anniversary of Tomb Raider.
We are all gathered here to celebrate the best way we know how: with a Switch 2 port of Rise of the Tomb Raider, the second entry in what’s now known as the Survivor Trilogy.
Rise of the Tomb Raider builds on the Uncharted-ification of the franchise and makes everything bigger and louder with what I feel like are the best locales in the trilogy.
Performance wise, it’s perfectly fine. 30fps leaves something to be desired for a port of this age on a system we know can do more but on a personal level it doesn’t bother. Any other issues we may have had with previous versions (if we happened to play and remember them) are still here, a feeling of input lag being chief among them.
But overall all there is still a phenomenal time to be had with Rise of the Tomb Raider and all of its included Anniversary content, and I couldn’t recommend it enough if one hasn’t played the game before. And, even if they have but it’s been a while and feel that itch, it’s a more than average adventure.
