The next game in the Xeno saga is here, and it’s a new saga
During today’s Nintendo Direct, Monolith Soft’s next entry in the famed RPG series was revealed. Surprisingly it isn’t a sequel, but rather a new beginning. A reboot? Looks like it!
The game will feature what appears to be heroes in a school on a new planet, perhaps inverted (based on what the trailer seems to showcase). The game is coming exclusively to Switch 2 in 2027.
Nintendo will share more information in the future, but in the meantime we’ve got some delicious screenshots to check out.

We’re also getting more Xenoblade while we wait, as Nintendo revealed Switch 2 editions of the original trilogy. These will include visual and performance upgrades, sure, but also new modes and abilities (and even characters?) in the titles. Xeno 1 will bring a new racing mode and speeders for the overworld, for all kinds of new rewards and traversal.
The games will be available separately or as upgrade packs for those that already own the originals. Xenoblade 1 launches today, Xeno 2 on July 30 and Xeno 3 on December 3.
