Marvel drops tons of news on current and new movies hitting the MCU
It’s SDCC and likely the most anticipated panel of the weekend is Marvel’s MCU extravaganza at Hall H. And they may have delivered!
Avengers: Endgame Encore
Hitting theaters on September 25th, the lightly updated film will feature Doomsday footage
Ghost Rider
Marvel has revealed that Ryan Gosling will take on the role of Ghost Rider. The film, directed by Shawn Levy (Star Wars Starfighter, Deadpool & Wolverine), will hit theaters in 2028. Coincidentally, the pair actually brainstormed ideas during the filming of Starfighter.
Avengers: Doomsday
Hayley Atwell will return to the MCU. It’s a reminder that her story was completed, as was Steve Rogers’ Captain America’s, but we don’t know if these are alternate versions. Could we be getting Hydra Cap and Captain Carter instead?
Deadpool may be back in Doomsday! Ryan Reynolds showed up in Canadian Tuxedo (denim!) Deadpool “cosplay” and antagonized the cast a bit.
According to the cast, the film will reveal that the Fantastic Four, specifically Reed Richards, and Doom have a lot of history and baggage. We comic readers know that already, but now you movie watchers do too! Robert Downey Jr made one important quip while on stage that could lead directly into Secret Wars, that some will choose to be on the side of good, while others in the family of Doom.
Black Panther 3
It’s official! A third Black Panther film is in production. Ryan Coogler is once again at the helm. There will be a new T’Challa in the film, as David Jonsson takes on the role of Toussaint (Prince T’Challa, son of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa and Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, first revealed in Wakanda Forever). The movie arrives on December 15, 2028.
