For some reason that I can’t really explain, I’ve never played a Tomb Raider game before going to E3. That is a fact. Another fact? Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light might be the best game I played at E3.

During E3, we had the opportunity to sit down for a hands-on demo of Ivy the Kiwi?, the quirky-titled and even more quirky-designed game by Prope Studios for XSEED. It stars a Kiwi, vines, and a beautiful art style.

Zan Datsu. “‘Zan’ meants to cut, and ‘datsu’ means to take.” That’s what creative producer Shigenobu Matsuyama told everyone at the Microsoft press conference, with the hopes of giving the audience an idea of what Metal Gear Solid: Rising will be about. And boy, did it.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn is a completely new take on the series, focusing on innovative game mechanics and increasing the cute factor by an infinite amount.

Thanks to its unique use of interaction between players, Hunted may very well turn out to be a great co-op fantasy experience.

Rage may have just enough variety and design polish to separate it from the growing crowd of post-apocalyptic FPSes.
