The Super Street Fighter IV rumors were true: Capcom (via Gamespot) confirmed the release of the game for Spring 2010.

Featuring 8 additional fighters — the known are T. Hawk, DeeJay, and Juri — the game has also been handed tweaks to the characters and fighter balance, based on comments from players and the developers.  Speaking with producer Yoshinori Ono, Gamespot managed to squeeze out a few more details, notably that the online experience will be improved and that the game will arrive on disc and not as DLC.

Audi Brings e-Tron Concept Car Home in Vertical Run

Posted by Dalibor Dimovski On September - 28 - 2009

Playstation’s Home has been growing over the last year.  With virtual spaces devoted to companies and games, the next to invade was undoubtedly cars.  Audi have done just that by bringing their recent e-Tron electric concept car to the console in an exclusive gaming experience, dubbed Vertical Run.  Audi will showcase its vehicles in the Audi Space within Home, where this R8-based concept (and hopefully others) will be found.

My prayers are for an S5-themed game around the ‘Ring , where I’d lap all manner of EVOs and M5s.  I guess I’ll just have to wait for Gran Turismo for that dream to come true.

Vertical Run and the Audi Space are due in Home in December in the US.

The Official Final Fantasy XIII Trailer Unleashed

Posted by Dalibor Dimovski On September - 28 - 2009

The Final Fantasy XIII trailer that recently debuted at Tokyo Game Show 2009 has been released to the masses.  Showcasing a fantastic amount of cut-scenes depicting fireworks, kissing, and explosions the trailer also gives us a good look at the battle schematic, faithful to the Final Fantasies of yore.

Clocking in at over 7 minutes (!) this should be plenty to tide fans of the series over for a while.

Or at least until the 7 minutes are up.

The Uncharted 2 Tweet Spam Begins [UPDATE]

Posted by Dalibor Dimovski On September - 28 - 2009

[UPDATE: Naughty Dog has acted quickly, addressing the concerns of  frequency of tweets:

"Some reviewers have had early access to the game and selected the option to update their Twitter accounts as they completed each chapter of the game. This has resulted in some Twitter feeds being updated multiple times an hour. We obviously want to provide the best experience for everybody, so for the time being we've disabled Twitter updates on chapter completions"

Social networking, and its integration into gaming, is a funny thing.  Sony took the chance to utilize the abilities of Twitter to both promote Uncharted 2 and to give users the ability to share recent game play events with their friends.  Understanding that it is taking a risk in utilizing the integration, Sony realized that it is still learning at what is an optimal way of bringing the two together.  Naughty Dog listens to their fans and it shows in the speed in which they acted.]

[EDIT: Just to clarify... This is aimed at the Twitter users, not to Naughty Dog.]

Seriously people, this crap has to stop. Twitter has become inundated with the spam of a hundred Uncharted 2 game reviewers telling us that they have just completed an act, gained a level, or played multiplayer.  Yes, it is as bad as it seems.  Nay, it is worse.  As soon as Uncharted 2 is released, the flood of Twitter spam will undoubtedly kill it the social network.  Can you imagine 1-2 million people spamming Twitter all at once with these childish, vomit-inducing ego trips?

No, I don’t care if you just found a bronze monkey statue.  You’ve just made Twitter much less usable for those of us that follow you.  Or should I say UN-follow you.

What seemed like a hip idea at the time has turned into an almost porn-like spamming of the network.  Meant to engage friends and followers into the Uncharted 2 gaming experience, the effect has been an almost unanimous hateful response from the Twitterverse.  The issue isn’t necessarily that the game tweets out your latest achievements, but that it does it so frequently.  In one count, one user had 4 automated tweets in less than an hour.  This is bad use of social media, folks.

#Uncharted2 twitter meme, I hope you die a quick and painful death before you take Twitter down with you.

In retaliation, I have started posting mundane daily tasks within the #Uncharted2 hashtag.  “Just scratched his butt in #Uncharted2″ and “needs to finish a Powerpoint in #Uncharted2″ are just some of the less colorful ones.  Let’s hope game developers Naughty Dog get the picture and put a stop to this nonsense.

LTTP Review: Uncharted (PS3)

Posted by Dalibor Dimovski On September - 27 - 2009

With Uncharted 2 just a scant couple weeks away, I decided to play its predecessor for the first time.  Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune was heralded as one of the best games of 2007, and the first real “killer app” for the PS3.  Does it hold up, 2 years on?  Did it saturate my taste buds enough for the sequel?  Read on to find out!

Review: Halo 3: ODST (Xbox 360)

Posted by Ryan Gan On September - 26 - 2009

Title

The Halo title that fans of the series have been waiting almost 2 years for has recently dropped in the form of Halo 3: ODST.  One should note, however, that the key phrase in the previous sentence is “fans of the series.”  The fact of the matter is that if you consider yourself a big fan of the series, then chances are you already own ODST and are firefighting as Sgt. Johnson and/or own a Master Chief helmet.  A dilemma does exist for the normal gamer, not-so-hardcore fans of the Halo series, and other gamers who feel like they they have to keep up on new releases in order to stay “relevant” or “educated.”  If any of these describe your situation, then perhaps you weren’t waiting for this title to drop as intently as the others.  So, the question is: should you get Halo 3: ODST? Ultimate Scribblenauts Exploit Found!

Posted by Dalibor Dimovski On September - 25 - 2009

scribblenauts_0

Well, we knew it had to happen eventually.  The item exploits in Scribblenauts are beginning to pour in, but this one takes the cake for the most creative and the most “DUH”.  Discovered by a few intrepid individuals (via gamefaqs) the method to solving just about any of the action levels (get the Starite) involves just 4 short steps and an air of “whydidntIthinkofthat”.  I won’t ruin it for you, so look past the jump for the answer.  BUT ONCE YOU DO, YOU”LL NEVER GO BACK TO NOT KNOWING.

And, may God or Cthulu have mercy on your scribbling soul.
