What do Dave Guertin and Greg Baldwin, Principle Artists for Insomniac Games, do outside of work?  Well, for one they probably eat and sleep.  Aside from that they also create incredible pieces of artwork and character designs together under the moniker of CreatureBox.  The team has created several characters, beautiful scribbles, and collections of mini-comics for their own pet project; sometimes you just have enough creative juice in you that can’t contain it all wfrom 8-5PM.

The duo recently sat down with Autodesk to talk about CreatureBox and Insomniac, touching off on their use of Autodesk’s Sketchbook Pro software.  Also discussed are the process of turning a sketch on paper into 3D model, how they worked their way up through Insomniac through different roles, sketching on paper versus digitally, and lobster boats.

If you’re interested at all in how the talented artists of the gaming world do their craft then this is a great read.  And, feel free to support the guys by picking up a copy of their latest collection over at CreatureBox.
