Ahhh it has been a while. Oh, wait? There’s a PPV today? The first all-women WWE PPV? When did this happen? Anyways, the first all-women WWE PPV Evolution is happening today, just in case you may have forgotten between Roman Reigns taking a break from wrestling due to Leukemia and the whole news on Saudi Arabia and WWE PPV Crown Jewel.
Let’s get this started with a look at the matches, and our predictions!
Toni Storm vs Io Shirai (Mae Young Classic 2018 Finals)
I believe this will be a very solid match between these two. As much as I would love to see Shirai win the Mae Young Classic and add another checkmark to Japanese wrestling, I do not think WWE can afford to let Toni Storm lose another tournament considering she lost the UK Tournament for the UK NXT Women’s Championship not long ago.
Prediction winner: Toni Storm
Kairi Sane(c) vs Shayna Baszler (NXT Women’s Championship)
I think this will be the match of the evening. They had a very good match when Baszler was champion previously, and I wonder how they will outdo it. But, I believe Baszler will fall short and Kairi Sane will retain her title. Expect Baszler to be called up to the main roster to join her friend Ronda Rousey.
Prediction winner: Kairi Sane
Sasha Banks, Bayley, Natalya vs The Riott Squad
This is one of those matches where the WWE does not know what to do with Sasha, Bayley or Natalya. They were probably thinking, “Hey lets put them in a three women tag match with The Riott Squad!” Except, I don’t even know what the WWE is doing with the Riott Squad. I really like the Squad and I really hope they get some sort of push in the near future, but I also hope WWE find something for Sasha, Bayley and Natalya too. They are wasting talent by not having them in a decent story line.
Prediction winner: the Riott Squad
Historic Women’s Battle Royal Match (for a future Women’s Championship opportunity)
Lots of female fighters, from WWE’s past, present and future, will be in this match. I am gonna go with Nikki Cross. Now think about it: Cross is still in NXT, but when she does make it to the main roster and has this win, she can have that championship match either on RAW or Smackdown. It also gives WWE a reason not to talk about it for a while until she gets called up. Trust me I love most of the women in this match, especially Asuka, but I would like to see someone from NXT win it and let that develop into its own story line down the road.

Trish Stratus & Lita vs Mickie James & Alicia Fox
Yup, you read that right. No Alexa Bliss due to her concussion issues. They could’ve added someone else besides Alicia Fox (this is not a diss on Fox, I love her as a performer but she has been booked like crap the past 4-5 years). They could’ve added Ivy or Molly Holly to the mix to have the old Attitude Era match.
Prediction winner: Trish and Lita
Becky Lynch(c) vs Charlotte Flair (SmackDown Women’s Championship match)
I’ll make this quick: I love Becky. I will always heart Becky. Boo the Woo.
Prediction winner: Becky Lynch
Ronda Rousey (c) vs Nikki Bella (RAW Women’s Championship Match)
I believe Ronda will retain her title; she’s still a major face and force. But, I also believe Brie Bella will interfere at some point of the match, which will make way for Shayna Baszler to come down to help Ronda, which in turn will propel her into the RAW roster.
