Several faceplate colors will compliment new DualSense controllers, too
Sony today revealed a brand new series of swappable console covers for its PS5. The covers, which can be used to replace the current white monolithic plates, will arrive in five shades: Midnight Black, Cosmic Red, Nova Pink, Galactic Purple, and Starlight Blue. Midnight Black and Cosmic Red will land in January 2022, while the rest will hit store shelves in Spring.
The console cover announcement may be a long time coming, as Sony had been adamant to legally go after companies such as Dbrand who manufacture their own aftermarket faceplates.
The console covers follow new and matching DualSense controllers. The Red and Black are already available, but joining them in January will be the new Blue, Pink, and Purple. Shoppers will be able to get them, first on the PlayStation Direct online store.
