The team showcases an indescribable mix of fear and heroism
It’s difficult to understand what war-at-home is like for most Western countries. We’ve had it pretty safe and easy. But the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, GSC Game World, know first hand about that experience.
Based in Kyiv, Ukraine, the team has had to endure the horrors of war during Russia’s invasion of their home, with many feeling the full brunt of the chaos and sadness. The emotional video below, shared during today’s Xbox Showcase Extended edition, depicts a studio that is happy to develop a passion project before being thrown into an unreal war, with many of its team members serving on the front lines, leaving their homes, or even losing access to their families.
The tragedy is horrific, but their heroism is equally indescribable. The video is worth a watch to help understand a small bit of what they are going through. WARNING: Potentially graphic content in the video.
