Cultic: Chapter One review

Cultic: Chapter One review

A fun action horror romp with a heavy focus on exploration and precision shooting

Cultic is like if you combined Resident Evil 4 and Half Life 2.

The level design does an amazing job of elevating the creators’ intent, especially with some of the spookiness they throw. It also heavily encourages the player to be ruthless and precise like the Doom Slayer himself. Every set piece in Cultic feels like it’s found by accident, and that just speaks heavily to the genius of the developer. The beats that Cultic Chapter One is able to pull off in such a concise playtime is truly special.

If you’re a fan of retro shooters and horror movies, you’ll want to give this one a try.
