Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater officially getting remade

Snake is back. HE’S BACK.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is one of, if not THE, most beloved entries in the Metal Gear series. It’s the origin story of Snake, and set the pace for how the future of the series would turn. Things got crazy!

There have been rumors of a remake for a long time now, perhaps stoked by the fires in the hearts of fans everywhere. We’ll, Konami likes money, surprisingly, and is actually going to make it! The news was announced during today’s PlayStation Showcase, and featured the first teaser trailer above. The game will be a “faithful” retelling of the original, but focus on modern gameplay and visuals. While no date was given, we *DO* know that it’ll be landing on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (via Steam). The project is officially titled Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and will arrive in 2024 at the earliest.

But fear not, MGS fans. Konami and the dev team have also revealed that a collection of the first three games, Metal Gear Solids 1-3 (including the original Snake Eater) will arrive on consoles this Fall, presumably for those same platforms as MGS Delta: Snake Eater.
