Whipenstein

We’re digging the “Wolfenstein with a whip” vibe from MachineGames’ upcoming Indiana Jones game, The Great Circle.

The first-person take on Indy combines the studio’s strengths as a narrative FPS company (both recent Wolf games have been faaaaaaaantastic) with the perennial Disney IP, bringing action and plot and puzzle-solving all together into one package. The trailer, which debuted at today’s Xbox Developer_Direct, shows a lot of whipping and shooting, but seems to balance it with the exploration that are all very typical of the series.

Indy likes to beat up Nazis and cults, and then steal their treasures, so this tracks. The game takes place in 1937, between Lost Ark and Last Crusade.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was announced years ago and it’s now nearing completion. Bethesda revealed a launch date of THIS YEAR — 2024. It’s exclusive to Xbox Series, PC, and Steam.

Let’s goooooo.
