Team fight GO action BOOM yes!
If it feels like the Borderlands movie has been in development for a long long LONG time, it’s because it HAS been in development for a long long LONG time. It started discussions in 2015, and now 9 years later we finally have the results of all that work: a trailer!
The premise of the film fits in with a lot of the recent sci-fi team up flicks of the last several years (Guardians, Suicide Squad, et al) — our group of heroes is thrown together to search out treasure. Unfortunately it’s on the worst planet in the worst part of the universe. The trailer certainly captures the style of the game series, and includes a familiar cast of characters and actors.
Borderlands is due to hit theaters in August and stars Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Edgar Ramírez, Ariana Greenblatt, Bobby Lee, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
