Gotta slay them all

You might know Game Freak from their little indie project known as “Pokémon”. However, they also make other games! They made a game about an elephant, a game about a musical knight, and a game about capturing monsters. Wait, we covered that one. Ah.

Anyhoo, it may be a suprise but the company itself actually isn’t owned by Nintendo. They’re a third party who works on Pokemon, which *IS* (basically) owned by Nintendo. It’s a long story, but just consider them a company that can work with anyone although they’ve mostly chosen to work with Nintendo.

During today’s Xbox showcase the developer (alongside publisher Fictions) debuted the first trailer for their new project, Beast of Reincarnation. Previously announced as Project Bloom (and once in a partnership with Private Division) the game is an action adventure RPG set in a post apocalyptic Japan in which a character named Emma and her dog Koo must survive a wildly changing world in order to save humanity.

No big deal!

The game is a definite departure from what the Pokemon developer traditionally makes, but that’s really because they encourage their team to branch out and create new things in between Pokemon games.

Beast of Reincarnation arrives in 2026 for Xbox, PS5 and PC (and Day 1 on Game Pass).
