Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition review

Puzzle Quest: Immortal Edition review

Puzzle Quest! This is it, but now it’s better and on everything (again)!

I don’t know what to tell you. The OG Puzzle Quest is simply an all-timer game. It gave me hundreds of hours spent leering into the DS screens, then even more hours when they ported it to other platforms later. Now we enter the turbulent year of 2025 and Puzzle Quest Immortal Edition is here to remind us that good still exists and the developers are here for us.

Puzzle Quest combines one of the most popular genres of games out there, the match 3 puzzle, with a fairly traditional RPG style game to create what I truly consider a masterpiece. If you have never played the original Puzzle Quest, now is as good a time as any. The original game is presented here mostly untouched, but now updated brand new 4k assets for modern displays.

Is it necessary to be this high a resolution for this type of game? No.

Am I complaining? Absolutely not.

Puzzle Quest Immortal Edition is a freshly washed cozy blanket to curl ourselves in, and I’m happy that it’s still keeping me warm.
