Summer Game Fest circles June 5-8 for its big events

From livestreams to hands-on, it’s Summer gaming season already!

It’s impossible to realize that we’re almost done with February because it’s still so freaking cold and snowy out there. I am NOT a fan. Stupid ground hog. Ugh. Well, there’s one way to start lifting our spirits warmly, and that’s the announcement that Summer Game Fest has its dates set, and baby we’re back.

So back!

The annual event is a showcase for gaming, from indies to AAA and everything in between, and has become our favorite way to reconnect with those in the industry to see what projects are in the works.

Like years past, the event will kick off with showcases, this year taking place on June 5th. Early in the day the Day of the Devs will return for a smashing collection of cool games, hosted by the team at DoubleFine Games. Later in the day, starting at 2PM PT/5PM ET/10PM GMT, the Summer Game Fest Live Kickoff Show will take place at the Dolby Theatre and feature announcements, information, etc etc. Last year is where we first found out about Resident Evil Requiem (which comes out this week!) among a bunch of other cool games.

Following that up, from June 6-8, Summer Game Fest: Play Days will take place in collaboration with iam8bit where invited media and creators will get a chance to go hands on with many of the projects revealed at the showcase.

That’s also just a part of the magic, since the entire month of June tends to be filled with livestreams and showcases that will bring even more gaming content to our faces.
