New games, new reveals, and GEARS OF WAR
Now that GDC and PAX are in the rear view mirror, everything is circling towards the Summer gaming palooza. The annual smorgasbord has been a mainstay of the video game world, and even though Summer Game Fest took over from E3 the magical week remains as important as ever — if not more.
One of the biggest events to take place that week is undoubtedly the Xbox Games Showcase. After the recent big changes within the company it was unknown if the show was still going to take place, but today Microsoft revealed that it is indeed coming back, and it’s also bringing the FanFest with it.
Taking place on June 7, the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will reveal new games, give big updates on upcoming first party releases, and feature exclusive news on Xbox’s partners, both AAA and indie. Following the showcase will be a special Gears of War: E-Day Direct that will give insight into the hotly anticipated new game in the series.
Xbox’s Showcase will be a part of its FanFest, which will bring fans together to celebrate 25 years of the brand and its games and consoles. Fans eager to get a chance to attend will need to register at https://www.xbox.com/fanfest in hopes of winning a spot.
What can we expect? Well Gears of War: E-Day, obviously, and likely news about Fable, Halo: Campaign Evolved, and possibly Xbox’s Project Helix.
It all kicks off on Sunday, June 7 at 10AM PT/1PM PT on Xbox’s socials and partners.
