More Xenomorphs! Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 announced and we’re ready

As if space couldn’t get any more dangerous

We’re in an Alien franchise renaissance right now. With new movies, TV shows and games, there’s a whole heck of a lot of love for our new favorite Disney Queen (Xenomorph). Just a couple weeks ago we that Alien Isolation 2 was on the way, and now we know of another sequel.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 takes the more cooperative action-y spin on the franchise. The original was a highly underappreciated game, but it was ultimately a HECK of a lot of fun. The sequel focuses on 4-player co-op as a squad will take on a hive of the alien beasts, filled with not only the classic monsters but also new mutations and even some humanoids.

It definitely looks both terrifying and tense, and yet I cannot wait to try out new weapons and classes to blast our way through. Having recently rewatched Aliens I have a full new appreciation for the blast-worthy iteration of the series, and Fireteam Elite 2 looks to capitalize on that. Or decapitate. Whatever comes first.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is developed by Daybreak Games and Cold Iron, and will arrive on PS5, Xbox, and PC with cross-functional play. There is no release date yet.
