Mami Ayukawa does the official Orbitals themes and it’s wonderful music

The legendary artist returns to classic anime styles for the game’s soundtrack

Orbitals is high on our list for upcoming games we’re interested in, and now even more so with the revelation that the game’s soundtrack will include performances by none other than the amazing Mami Ayukawa. The singer, perhaps best known in geek circles for some of our favorite themes in 80s anime, like Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, will be lending her vocals to really, REALLY drive home how nostalgically-inspired the game is.

There’s even an LP available to preorder, which I’m personally definitely doing. Just look at it! And listen, too, because there’s also a MUSIC VIDEO (see below) and the streamable tunes now, too!

Nintendo recently sat down with the dev team behind it to go over some of the details of the game, like the co-op inspirations and the visual design, which you can watch below.

It’s all delicious. Just delicious. Kepler Interactive and Shapefarm are putting Orbitals together for a September 3rd launch exclusively on Switch 2.
