The Evening Report: More Nonsense Edition

I am not the best person to write lead-ins for multiple news stories. This should be a section that tells you what the post is going to be about. It should read: “NGP, S1, PC news and a Dead Island trailer inside. Check after the break for more!” That always seemed boring to me, so instead, you will get roughly a paragraph of my rambling thoughts. Silence speaks volumes, but typing nonsense speaks more.

Do you want to know more about the NGP? You better get down with GDC. Sony announced today that they will be lecturing the GDC audiences with a talk about their upcoming successor to the PSP. Since the unveil in January, Sony has been very tight-lipped about the handheld. Maybe they are hoping that we have forgotten that they haven’t announced a price for it yet.

*Hint; We haven’t.

More Sony hardware news to speak about today, this time, it is the S1. What is the S1? Well…before we continue, this is still rumor-mill information. Trust it as far as you trust the outlet we are sourcing, Engadget. I trust Engadget very much, but it would be irresponsible journalism to not point out that it is still unconfirmed. Anyway, this is a 9.4 inch Android powered tablet with Playstation branding. It even comes preloaded with several PSX games. I asked Ross Miller of Engadget when they thought the S1 would be hitting store shelves, and he was confident in his sources date of a September release. I am sure we will have more info for you as that date comes closer.

Here we have a couple of PC game stories for those that feel snubbed: The Crysis 2 PC demo will be available for your downloading pleasure on March 1st. Next, for you PCers, mark March 17th on your calenders. For that is the day that Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood will be up for you to buy. Make sure if you are getting it, to pre-purchase it on Steam as it comes with a bevvy of extra features. Check this link to see what you can get for the low, low price of $50.

This last news story isn’t a news story. It is a trailer for Techland and Deep Silver’s next game, Dead Island. I have never seen a better trailer for any media in my entire life. This one trailer put the game on the radar for over 8,000 people today, and they, like myself, can’t wait for more news on this game.
