Hot Wheels come to Rocket League, completing the Ouroboros

It’s finally happened. The way I grew up playing with Hot Wheels — quite literally throwing them at everything (what the hell was I thinking?!) — is exemplified in this charming video for the latest DLC to come to Rocket League.

Yes, Hot Wheels cars in Rocket League is an amazingly natural and obvious combination. The cars chosen for the DLC, Twin Mill III and Bone Shaker, are possibly the most iconic modern Hot Wheels cars. Bone Shaker alone was created by legendary Hot Wheels Designer Larry Wood.

As a collector of the cars, this exciting news for me. The 2017 Hot Wheels models have hit store shelves, and Rocket League continues to be one of the most popular multiplayer games around. Dropping $1.99 on each car seems like a steal (regular Hot Wheels retail for around 99 cents), especially with their included in-game decals and exclusive wheels. And, for those that don’t pony up on the cost, car toppers and a Hot Wheels antenna arrive as random drops.

I’m in heaven.
