E3: Skyrim comes to Nintendo Switch with Zelda flavor

We knew Skyrim was eventually coming to Switch, but perhaps we now know what the holdup has been: the Legend of Zelda.

Well, more like “The Legend of Zelda themed items are coming to Skyrim.” Announced at Bethesda’s E3 press conference, the game will be arriving on Nintendo’s newest device with amiibo functionality that will deliver treasure chests full of Hyrule items. The familiar tunic, the Hylian shield and even the Master Sword were revealed, although all Zelda-based amiibo (from Smash Bros to Breath of the Wild) will deliver some kind of unique goods.

Motion controls are also being added, so feel free to swing the Joy-Cons around like a sword or pick a lock if you want to.

There’s still no final release date, just “Holiday 2017,” so expect it sometime in November and December?
