Nintendo reveals content updates for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Ring Fit Adventure and more

From free drops to DLC

While Nintendo hasn’t revealed the full slate of brand new HITZ for the rest of the year yet, they know that staying indoors means keeping us occupied with what we already own. That being said, the company took some time today to reveal a slew of updates and DLC for its games, coming within the next few days and weeks.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 was a tasty experience last year, and the game has received a consistent chunk of content during its Season Pass. The latest is focused on the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom, who are now back in the MCU thanks to Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox. Shadow of Doom launches today.

Animal Crossing New Horizon‘s first major event is on its way. The Bunny Day event (Easter, duh!) takes place from April 1 – April 12, and will be available with an update on the 1st. The event focuses on Zipper T. Bunny and his hidden eggs, and give plenty of new time-limited objects that can be crafted for just the one time per year. Later in April, another update will launch the Earth Day event and content.

The Pokemon Sword and Shield expansions will kick off by the end of June with the first one, Isle of Armor. The new location includes a dojo for players to train at, in which they’ll gain the new legendary Pokemon Kubfu.

The island feature a pair of towers to conquer as well, which (upon completing one) allow Kubfu to evolve into Urshifu. New clothing and backgrounds will also be available as a part of this DLC, and Gigantamax forms of the starters.

Ring Fit Adventure receives a free update today, too. It’s just as well, since I’m about to have completed the New Game+ mode of the game’s initial adventure and need something new to get me to come back. The update includes some tweaks to the game, as well as a new female voice (oddly, something that definitely feels like it was lacking in the experience thus far) and a brand new Rhythm Mode. This mode is a music dance/workout experience, where players stay in tune with fitness moves to music from some of the most popular Switch games, like Splatoon 2, BOTW, and Super Mario Odyssey. The update is now available.
