Will probably arrive before the game’s sequel
There’s a running joke about Beyond Good & Evil in which the sequel will never come out, no matter how far along in development it is. Reminder: It was first revealed/announce in 2008 or 2009 (depending on if leaks count) and then re-revealed in 2017. And 2018. And 2019. And has been pretty dark since then.

Well, now there’s a BG&E film in production, being spearheaded by the Director of Detective Pikachu, Rob Letterman (according to THR). The film looks to be a blend of live-action and animation, so expect a look potentially similar to Alita. Netflix officially revealed the news in a tweet, because it’s 2020 and that’s how things are done.
We’re sure it will hit the streaming service before the actual game sequel is finished, whenever that is.
