The best Diablo is coming back, and it looks terrific

Blizzcon is here, an Blizzard stunned audiences with the news that Diablo II is getting the remaster treatment — and it looks fantastic.

The remaster will feature the original game as well as its Lord of Destruction expansion. The visuals have been boosted to 4K, and developer Vicarious Visions are giving fans the option to switch back and forth between the new graphics and the original. The original used sprites, but the remaster will utilize physics-based 3D rendering. Even the original’s cinematic FMV is being completely remade from the ground up. New audio, lighting, and more aim to make the game feel like a brand new experience. Cross-save is also coming to the game, allowing players to hop into the game wherever they want.

Diablo II Resurrected will hit PC, PS4/PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch later this year.
