Activision announces Call of Duty: Vanguard

A full reveal will take place in Warzone this week

The often rumored and poorly hidden details about the next Call of Duty game have been confirmed: Call of Duty Vanguard is on the way. The game, developed mainly by Sledgehammer Games, will return to World War II, with a big part taking place in the Pacific’s “theatre of war” that hasn’t quite been explored as much in the series. Expect the game to dive into the origins of modern special forces missions, as well.

The game will once again include a campaign mode, missing in the Black Ops family of games, alongside multiplayer and Zombies, and tie into Warzone.

The reveal will occur on August 19th within Warzone itself at 10:30AM PT/1:30PM ET. Early preview embargoes should also go up this week as well. Platforms and release date haven’t been revealed, but it’s safe to assume that the PlayStation and Xbox families are all there, as well as PC, with a launch date around the first week of November.
